I've had this prayer card in my wallet for so long I can't remember acquiring it. It's been with me for about 20 years now, which is rather incredible. The thing that surprises me about it is every so often I'll pull it out and the person with me will say, "Oh, I carry that card too!" It's always a person who is in no way religious but feels better having this card.
Although in truth the concept of a Guardian Angel has nothing to do with religion. It's something we're all born with and can call on at anytime. If you are ever feeling alone or in doubt pull up this image, read the prayer, and know that it was heard.

This reminded me of William Blake's "The Tiger (http://www.bartleby.com/101/489.html) based on the prayer's meter, which prompted looking it up. As you can see, the questioned posed, "would a maker of a tiger also make a lamb?" is an interesting one--the same as is there such thing as good and bad or light and dark? Is it possible for these qualities or properties to be polar opposites, or is it more like a sliding scale? Comments are closed.
