Deep breath...

10/9/2020

Welcome to my new blog! A few weeks ago, I began thinking about how much taking photos used to bring me joy. It was a hobby of mine about ten years ago, and I felt regretful I had let it go. It was one of the few things that had been able to calm my anxiety in the moment.

Later that night, I went into my closet and got out my rather old (at least by digital standards), Sony DSC-R1 camera. I stared at the buttons in confusion. Had I really known how to use this thing? After printing the manual and several days of trial and error, I was back at it.

I've decided to share my photos, which are not professional by any means, in hopes that they offer you some calm also. If you'd like to follow my calming photo journey, checkout my social media links to the side! My first photo in this journey is a wee moth on my mint plant.

Hi! I'm Melissa and this is my blog Take Photo Calm Self.

I have struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life. One thing that has always helped me was taking photos (even if they're amateur). I decided to share these photos with others who might need a moment of calm. Thanks for coming by!
